Prescription Drugs and Seniors

Nguyen

When is enough enough and enough maybe too much? Is there a time and place for de-prescribing?
Dr. Hien Nguyen will discuss matters of concerns and awareness for seniors and their prescription medications. She will also introduce us to the AGS Beers Criteria which includes lists of certain medications worth discussing with health professionals because they may not be the safest or most appropriate options for older adults

Dr. Hien Nguyen received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, University of the Sciences in 2017. Born and raised in Lancaster, she returned to Lancaster General as an ambulatory pharmacist clinician dividing her time between clinical pharmacy initiatives at Lancaster General Health Physicians Geriatrics, Ann B Barshinger Cancer Institute, and Susquehanna Family Medicine. Her clinical areas of interest include osteoporosis/bone health, deprescribing/appropriate prescribing, and mentoring/precepting future generations of pharmacists
