More Than A Meal is a program sponsored by United Way that allows the Downtowners and Meals on Wheels organizations to work together more meaningfully. The goal is to use our collective resources to provide members of both organizations with the volunteers, support, and other necessary services. For the Downtowners, we are hoping to get new volunteers and members who are willing to engage socially, while expanding our demographic distribution to include more of Lancaster as a whole.

This training will cover what Lancaster Downtowners does, how volunteers can get involved, boundaries, signs and how to respond to elder abuse, and signs of an unsafe home. This is an introductory training that opens the way for a longer line of educational events where we will be able to bolster our volunteer resources and efficacy.
