Join Downtowner Roberta Strickler, public transport advocate, who will help you navigate your way from Lancaster to the lovely Wyck Historic House and Garden on Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia. You will purchase a $20 round trip senior discount ticket to catch the 8:27 am AMTRAK train to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia and return on an afternoon train. After arriving in Philadelphia you will spend time looking around the station then board a SEPTA train to take you to the vicinity of the Wyck House and Garden. After lunch, you’ll do the route in reverse arriving back in Lancaster mid to late afternoon. Expect total walking distance of about two miles.
For an even less expensive day, make an appointment to stop by Representative Mike Sturla’s office to order a free SEPTA pass. Important: It will take up to five weeks from the time your order the pass until it is delivered to you. Follow this link for detailed information about this trip BEFORE you register.
